Deactivating two-factor authentication

If you no longer wish to use two-factor authentication, you can deactivate it.

Info:

The following description is an example of the process using the FreeOTP authentication app. For more information on other authentication apps, please consult the provider's help pages: Selection of apps for two-factor authentication

  1. Click on Home and on Security Options.

  2. Scroll to the item Two-factor authentication.
  3. Click on Deactivate two-factor authentication.
  4. Enter your password for your email address.
  5. Open your FreeOTP authentication app.
  6. Tap on the entry for GMX that you created when setting up two-factor authentication.
The FreeOTP app generates a confirmation code and displays it.
    Info:

The generated code expires after a certain period of time. After this time has elapsed, FreeOTP automatically generates a new code that you can use if you were not able to enter the previously displayed code on time.

  7. Enter the code that is displayed by your FreeOTP authentication app.
  8. Click on Continue.
You have successfully deactivated two-factor authentication.
