Retrieve your e-mail from your GMX mailbox with Outlook. Your
e-mail will be sent to your application through POP3 whenever you want.
How to add your e-mail account to Outlook 2016
To synchronize your e-mails with IMAP or POP3 you need to activate this feature
in your GMX account. Click E-mail → Settings → POP3 & IMAP → Send and receive emails via external program [...]. Confirm the altered settings by clicking
Save and start your external e-mail program.
Click File → Info → Add account.
The Outlook-Assisstent for setting up a new account will open
up.
Enter an e-mail address to add your account.
Click on Advanced options and check the box for
Let me set up my account manually.
Click on Connect.
Choose the account type POP.
The dialog POP Account Settings will open
up.
Take the following settings:
Incoming mail: Enter pop.gmx.com with port 995 and
check the option This server requires an encrypted conncetion (SSL/TLS)
Outgoing mail: Enter mail.gmx.com with port 587 an
the encryption method STARTTLS
(recommended)
Click on Connect.
A login-dialog will open up.
Enter your e-mail-address and your password, check the option Save the password in your password list and click on
OK.
Outlook 2016 retrieves the e-mail from your GMX mailbox.
How to add your e-mail account to Outlook 2010
Click
File, then
Information in the submenu and the
Add account button.
Select
Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click on
Next.
Select
Internet E-mail and click on
Next.
Enter your name and e-mail address. Select POP3 for the
account type and enter pop.gmx.com as incoming server and mail.gmx.com as outgoing server. Enter your GMX username and password. Uncheck Test Account
Settings by clicking the Next button. Click on More Settings.
Select the
Outgoing Server tab. Check
My outgoing server requires authentication.
Select the Advanced tab. Enter
995 next to Incoming server and
check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).
Enter 587 next to Outgoing server
and select TLS as encrypted connection type (a). If a
copy of your e-mail should stay in your GMX mailbox, check
Leave a copy of messages on the the server (b). Click
on OK (c) and on Next (d).
Click on
Finish.
Outlook 2010 retrieves the e-mail from your
GMX mailbox.
How to add your e-mail account to Outlook 2007
Click on
Tools and then
Account Settings ....
Click
New... .
Select
Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click on
Next.
Select
Internet E-mail and click on
Next.
Enter your name and e-mail address at user information. Select
POP3 for the account type and enter pop.gmx.com as incoming server and mail.gmx.com as outgoing server. Enter your GMX e-mail address and password as log in credentials. Click on
More Settings.
Select the
Outgoing Server tab. Check
My outgoing server requires authentication.
Select the Advanced tab. Enter
995 next to Incoming server and
check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).
Enter 587 next to Outgoing server
and select TLS as encrypted connection type (a). If a
copy of your e-mail should stay in your GMX mailbox, check
