Activating PIN protection in your GMX Cloud App for iOS

Protect your GMX Cloud App for iOS by setting a user PIN and protecting your app from unauthorised access.

  1. Tap the menu symbol in the menu bar.
    The menu navigation will appear.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap General settings.
  4. Tap PIN protection mode.
  5. Tap Turn on PIN protection mode.
  6. Activate the PIN protection mode:
    1. Enter your new PIN.
    2. Confirm your new PIN.
    A message window will appear to inform you that you have activated the PIN protection mode.
  7. You can change your PIN or activate Touch ID to unlock your device instead of PIN protection at any time.

    "Touch ID" is the iPhone or iPad fingerprint scanner, which can be used to unlock your device quickly without using a password. Touch ID must be activated in your device’s settings.

    • Select a new PIN by tapping Change PIN protection.
    • Enable unlocking of the app with a fingerprint by swiping Use Touch ID switch to the right.

  8. You can specify how often your PIN should be requested. Choose between 10/30 seconds, 1/2/3 minutes or PIN entry Whenever I switch between apps to activate a PIN request whenever you want to access the GMX Mail App for iOS.
Your GMX Cloud App for iOS is now protected with a PIN.
