Viewing Saved Passwords

Have you forgotten your password and want to find it again? Several browsers save your passwords automatically. In this case, you can view it in your browser. Open the browser settings to show your password.

Requirements:

You have saved your GMX password in your browser or email application.

View saved passwords in Firefox
  1. Click the menu icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Privacy & Security and scroll down to Logins and Passwords.
  4. Click Saved Logins...
    The Firefox password manager opens in a new tab.
  5. If you need to narrow down the list, enter GMX.com in the search field.
  6. In the list on the left, click the appropriate entry.
  7. Click the eye icon.

View saved passwords in Chrome
  1. Click the menu icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. On the left, click Autofill.
  4. Click Password Manager.
  5. If you need to narrow down the list, enter GMX.com in the search field.
  6. Click the eye icon next to the appropriate entry.

  7. If necessary, enter your Windows credentials and click OK.
The password is shown.
How to view saved passwords in Opera

  1. Click the Opera icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. On the left, click Privacy & security.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Advanced.
  5. Under "Autofill", click Password Manager.
  6. If you need to narrow down the list, enter in the search field.
  7. Click the eye icon next to the appropriate entry.

  8. If necessary, enter your Windows credentials and click OK.

View saved passwords in Microsoft Edge
  1. Click the menu icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. On the left, click Profiles.
  4. Click Passwords.

    A list of your saved passwords is shown.
  5. To narrow down the list, enter GMX.com in the search field.
  6. Click the eye icon next to the appropriate entry.
  7. If necessary, enter your Windows credentials and click OK.

View saved passwords in Safari (Mac/MacBook)
  1. Open Safari on your Mac or MacBook.
  2. Click Safari in the top left.
  3. Click Settings (or Preferences).
  4. Switch to the Passwords tab.
  5. Enter your Mac user account password and confirm.
  6. In the list of saved passwords, click on the appropriate entry.
  7. Hover the mouse over the hidden password to make it readable.

View saved passwords on your iPhone/iPad
  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap Passwords (or Passwords & AccountsWebsite & App Passwords when using iOS 13 or earlier versions).
  3. Enter the passcode of your device when prompted.
  4. In the list of saved passwords, tap on the appropriate entry.
  5. Tap the hidden password to make it readable.

View saved passwords in Chrome for Android
  1. Tap the menu icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Password Manager.
  4. In the list under “Passwords”, click the appropriate entry.
  5. Tap the eye icon.
  6. Enter the lock code of your device (screen lock) so that the password can be displayed legibly.
    Info:

    To do this, you must have set up the screen lock on your device.

View saved passwords in Thunderbird
  1. Click on the menu icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. On the left, click Privacy & Security.
    A list of saved passwords will appear.
  4. Under “Password”, click Saved Passwords.

  5. To narrow down the list, enter GMX.com in the search field.
  6. Click Show Passwords and confirm by clicking Yes.
